Hello everyone,

I have recently dove into learning C# programming, specifically with Unity 5, and I am a bit stuck.

I am trying to learn C# from the ground up by following this Microsoft training course:

https://mva.microsoft.com/en-US/tra...absolute-beginners-8295?l=lQifIGYy_5004984382

However, I am running a Mac OS X and I am not sure if the Virtual Studio Express is compatible with it. What would be a substite for such a program where I can simply practice coding C#?

Thank you.

Visual Studio Code is mostly just an editor. It isn't an IDE like Xcode or the full version of Visual Studio that runs on windows.

You can run a VM as the previous poster suggested and run Visual Studio.

Or you can try Xamarin http://xamarin.com/

Keep in mind that Unity3D doesn't necessarily use the latest version of C# and uses an antiquated version of monodevelop. Your best bet for learning Unity and C# is to actually learn in Unity and do all the tutorials on their website and other tutorials online.
