So I've been really looking at iPhone/iPod programs lately, but some I want aren't there. I don't have any experience in programming but I'm a fairly fast learner in computer related stuff, so where should I start? What languages should I learn? What's different between the iPhone and regular programs? etc etc.

Edit: Hehe.. somebody wanna move this to the iPod Touch hacking section? (Shouldn't really matter as they use the same OS)

Take a look at the Apple Developer Centre: http://developer.apple.com/

Everything you could possibly want is here, including the SDK. Two documents that I would strongly recommend are the iPhone Programming Guide (http://developer.apple.com/iphone/l...ngGuide/Introduction/chapter_1_section_1.html) and the iPhone Application Tutorial (http://developer.apple.com/iphone/l...l/iPhone101/Articles/chapter_1_section_1.html).

If you are new to Apple programming, you will also want to learn Objective C. There are plenty of references in the above two documents and on the website.

Wrting your first iPhone (or iPod Touch) application can seem rather overwhelming, but if you take a careful look at the documentation, you can get something running pretty quickly (even if you're an old S/370 mainframe guy like me ..... ;)).
