just asking a stupid question...... is there any way to program or set one of your function keys to do a specific task, like I want to set a key for the SEND button ( APPLE KEY+SHIFT+D ) possible????
If you are using Panther, you can add or change menu shortcuts in System Preferences->Keyboard & Mouse->Keyboard Shortcuts. For example, if you were to change one for the Send menu item in Mail, you would do the following:
Go to the above location (System Preferences->Keyboard & Mouse->Keyboard Shortcuts)
Click the "+" icon on the bottom left of the list
In the sheet that appears, choose Mail as the application, "Send" as the menu title, and the shortcut that you want as the keyboard shortcut (eg F1), then click the "Add" button.
Quit and relaunch Mail if it's open
You cannot use this technique for things that aren't in menus, or if you are using an older version of Mac OS X. In this case, you'd need to use third party software.
