Hey everyone, I do not currently own an Apple computer but want to start programming for the iPhone/ipod touch. My University however has some Mac Labs and I wanted to use those, however I do not know if they will allow us to install xcode, etc on to the computers.

So I was wondering how I could get this to work, would I be able to install all of the things onto a flash drive/external HDD?

Why not ask? Universities are places of learning. If you're trying to learn iPhone programming then they should be able to help.

Lol, well my main question was just whether I will be able to essentially have a portable dev environment (installing xcode, etc on a external HDD) but yea I will ask my school if they have xcode installed but I doubt they would install it just for me, especially since its summer and I am not taking summer school. I was just going to go up with my cousin for her last 3 days of her summer school.
