The GPU series this time is nVidia's Ampere! You have all been waiting on RTX GPUs with Metal Support and/or Mac support. For me though, this is a insane, time consuming, and brutal task!

Did you write one before? I don't think i've ever seen anyone (that's not apple or nvidia) write a graphics driver for osx, there is zero documentation. The closest you can get is using the old macintosh 9 documentation for ndrv video drivers to write a basic framebuffer driver, which is apparently still loaded by osx.


In fact native nvidia drivers used to be structured this way, they are architected as ndrv drivers somehow. However there was never a way to wire up hardware acceleration i believe, that entire part of osx is pretty undocumented, and what public information exists comes from various 0-days people have found poking and reversing pieces.
