For me its been over 30 years since High School (Rutherford, NJ). I never went to my prom. I opted to spend my money on a trip to the UK for 2 weeks. Never regretted it. Didn't have a steady guy at that time anyway.

Love the sneaks. I went to my grade 11 prom (not really my prom but I was invited so I went) and then for grade 12 I did a youth exchange to the arctic circle. I figured I went once so I was good. The trip was amazing by the way, 2nd closest town to the north pole

LMAO. I hear what you guys are saying about the shoes.. they're a tad bulky.
But I don't really like dress shoes, anyways. They're ugly; I don't think he even had any.
And I didn't want to hear him whining all night about how he was uncomfortable.

At least he didn't wear his red and white checkered oldschool vans...

... but I'm not going. Nope.

The idea doesn't appeal to me. Plus they've got a disco and hog roast there, and being a vegetarian rocker, I don't really want to go Plus I don't like the idea of dressing up in a tuxedo and crap.

Ah well.

It's fun for those who enjoy it. I know it's a really big thing for a lot of people in America, but hey, I'm not American.

I think I'll just spend my evening on Macrumors instead. Would be a lot more fun. (In my opinion)

This was my very first prom i am a freshman and my boy friend is a junior. We have been together for a wee bit more than two months. Twas a night to remember, cant wait till the next one, even though those things are so darn pricey at least my wallet has some time to bulk up before then.

haha thanks. yea i believe that formal occasions require formal attire if you know what i mean. if there is one thing i miss about hs, its the formal dances. you cant really do them in/after college as far as i know......maybe jazz clubs? i dunno lol
