I still use an original Promise Pegasus R6 Thunderbolt Enclosure with barely 200 hours of operation on it, It is partitioned as RAID5, with no Spare Drive, uses 3TB HDD's, and has 15TB of useable space. I mostly use it for Backup images of my MacOS, and for video and audio archives. I am wondering if anyone else out there has one of these bays, and if they are compatible with the latest release of Mac OS, or the M2 Air.

Note the following threads:

It appears these people were just having issues with the Driver, and not the Physical Unit itself? As Promise claims to make a driver thats compatible with Apple Silicon, I don't see why this wouldn't work.

If you are using this type of storage would you mind letting me know what type of Thunderbolt adapters/cords you are using?

Thank you.

Also, This storage, while top of the line/amazing in 2012 when it came out, it's a little dated now. What do you guys suggest for replacement, I am out of date on who makes great storage enclosures these days. Looking for something in the 30TB range. Maybe the newer Promise or are there better choices? Afterall, the R6 has been supported for 10 years~, by my records, and I plan to use it until it fails, so hopefully another 5-10 years of support from Promise.

Over the years Promise has done an excellent job at enhancing the reliability of my Unit via Software updates, firmware through Storage Utility, and core Drivers for newer MacOS releases. Good job Promise!
