Hey folks, I ordered a MBR SR and iPod nano on June 5th. My MBP had problems and I had to send it back and it looks like my new one won't arrive until July 3rd.

The problem is that the rebate program says they have to receive your claim within 30 days of the purchase date. Am I screwed here? There is now way I can get it there on time, especially if this MBP has any problems...

Anyone go through any similar situation before with Apple?

I think they will give you a new receipt with a new date on it (and the serial number of the new machine). That's what they did when I exchanged mine at the store and they said I should use the new receipts for the rebate.

I just looked at the rebate form and it says 30 days after purchase date OR 30 days after the last shipment date if you bought online.

"Send the completed coupon, UPC labels, and proof of purchase, postmarked within 30 days of the purchase date. For orders from the online Apple Store or Apple Telesales, postmark must be within 30 days of the last product shipment date."

I got nervous because my MPB won't be shipped until 6 weeks from the order date and I already have my ipod but this should be fine.

Ah great, thanks very much (iDive too)! I'll maybe write a short little note and include it with the invoices although I know they'll almost certainly ignore it. The promo instructions say to include all invoices related to the order and so at this point I have three (one for the 2 macbooks, one for the two ipods, then one for the macbook I'm having replaced).

On a positive note, the new guy is set to arrive this week! YAY!!! :)
