has anyone else noticed this? - this may well be the same as "flickering" but i definately think its best to describe the problem as "moving waves"
on certain tones of dark colours....usually grey, or for instance when you have a pattern of, say, little squares arranged in a grid on a dark background (squares are darker) like one of my favourite websites does.... do you notice like a propagating wave effect?
on the website in question it happens where the pattern is....the waves seem to move from the inside out, on both sides of the screen..so theyre travelling across the screen and in opposite directions
then when i boot up and actually have to load OSX and you have the dull grey/blue background.... i get the waves moving from the top down, again more pronounced at the left/right hand sides and it wears off toward the bottom.
i've noticed it a couple more times on other sites and sometimes on the dash board. increasing the brightness to full usually cures it.
what is it? i mean i have 2 cases here where theyre moving in totally different directions. is it a refresh rate issue?
