Hi everyone.

I'm installing a used SI-PEX40129 bifurcation riser controller in my cMP build.

Those of you with the same card in your cMP, would you be kind enough to tell me how the fan came assembled on the board from factory (bonus points if you can snap a few pics)? The fan in my used one was installed improperly when it arrived, so I put it together the way it seems it should operate and wanted to make sure I did it correctly.

Thanks in advance!

Hey Alpha,

here are some pics from my I/O Crest card. One pic with the original config and a second pic with an added resistor for ultimate quietness. Hope this helps.

Images at [...] - maybe they will help.
Thanks Aiden. I had seen some of those pics before, was hoping for something a little higher res, just like Alex wound up posting.

Alex, this is exactly what I was looking for, thanks for providing high res pics of your setup. I have a few follow-up questions, if you don't mind:
1) what resistor did you wind up using to quiet the fan? I would love to put one together and have such option for my own. Any info around that mod would be very helpful.
2) did you modify the heatsink? Looks like you cut a portion out, but I might be wrong.
3) my heatsink didn't come with thermal pads for the drives, only the square one for the ASMedia chip. I have a brand new thermal pad I could use, but it's considerably thinner than the thermal pad block used for the ASMedia chip. Do you remember how thick the pads used for the drives are supposed to be for optimal contact and heat transfer?

Thanks in advance. Apologies for the delayed reply by the way, it's been a bit hectic lately.

I sent you a message, you should find all answers there. :)
