Forgive me for the long text but this is necessary. We run PP6 on an M1 Mac Mini running macOS Big Sur at our church. Our setup currently looks like this.
  1. 1 USBC port is taken up by the mac mini display (main monitor)
  2. HDMI is the main output from PP6 going into a Blackmagic TV Studio HD (for the main auditorium screens)
  3. We have a USBA-to-VGA serving as the 3rd display for the Confidence Monitor (Stage Display) - the actual monitor is a Samsung Series 8 SmartTV
We ran into a resolution because the SmartTV doesn't support the VGA system due to resolution limits so, in System Preferences/Displays, we changed the display arrangement to as below;
  1. Switched the USBA output to be the main display
  2. Made the USB-C to push main output to the Blackmagic
  3. Made the HDMI to push stage display output to a splitter that splits between a Dell Monitor and the SmartTV
After this mini solution, everything worked for just a day then PP6 started freaking out, switching up displays during church service. I figured maybe it's because the M1 Mac Mini is wired to use only the USBC or HDMI ports as the main displays and now maybe Big Sur was confused with which signal should go where. So we are looking to switch from a USBA-to-VGA adapter to HDMI, preferably a dual HDMI adapter not only to increase the resolution but also to reduce conversions and splitters. So my question is this;
For our setup which is the best USBA-to-HDMI Adapter that is compatible with M1 and Big Sur? I came across the adapters listed below but I haven't seen anyone speak of M1 and Big Sur in terms of compatibility.
  1. Plugable USB 3.0 or USB C to HDMI Adapter for Dual Monitors https://www.amazon.com/Plugable-Mon...dual+hdmi+adapter+ma,electronics,1055&sr=1-17
  2. j5create USB to HDMI Adapter https://www.amazon.com/j5create-USB...+dual+hdmi+adapter+ma,electronics,1055&sr=1-4
  3. UNSTINCER USB 3.0 to Dual HDMI Adapter https://www.amazon.com/UNSTINCER-Co...+hdmi+adapter+ma,electronics,1055&sr=1-6&th=1
I've seen some StarTech.com ones but those are Windows only so they don't fit the bill. I hope i have clearly explained my predicament. Thanks for the help.

We have used this adapter from J5Create in our church's video system driving PP7 to multiple screens. It works very well on our intel (i7) iMac setup... but I have no idea if or how well it might work with the M1 SoC - there may not be M1 drivers for that.

Given the M1's stated limit of two monitors, some of your issues may be related to that... not positive, though.
