Hello,

I'm sorry I've searched the internets up and down and still can't believe how much crap there is online. I want to jailbreak to unlock my phone to any network

1) Is it easy to jailbreak?

2) Will it all work just the same as before? Or are there any downsides?

3) Can I use the official theme?

4) Can I use Itunes?

Please please xxx

Yes to all. No downsides.

Yes to all. No downsides.

Actually, there is a downside. If you don't have a 3GS or the iPod Touch 3rd Generation (32GB or 64GB) then after installing several of the useful programs you will notice a lot of slowdown on the device.

If you do have one of those 2 devices then you wont notice any major slowdown.

Slowdowns only happen if OP installs certain modifications. A 3G will handle being JB quite well if it isn't overloaded.

That's a load of crap. You run the risk of updates not applying correctly, and also you may void your warranty.

I disagree about updates. Firmware updates will install just as they do on a vanilla phone. And if a hardware issue arrises, you just restore the phone and set up as new. Apple will never know your phone was ever JB.

dhlizard, I heard Itunes will block you out? Is this not true?

When a new Official OS update comes out, does a jailbreak update come out a few days later or something? x

iTunes works exactly the same with a vanilla or JB iPhone

When new firmware is released, most of the JB community waits to update to the new firmmare until the new JB and UL tools are ready. Yes, there will be a delay. But if your phone is working, there is no real need to update immediately to the newest firmware.

Well all I want to do really is unlock it to any network.

If you think its 100% easy and no downside and I can use official theme thennnnnn....

Can you give me a link to jailbreak? :D xx

I would say I've had a pretty positive experience with my jailbreak. I know if you load too much or something that takes a lot of memory your phone will slow down...I have a 3g iPhone. So far there is no way I would go back to the unjailbroken form!

Reasons I jailbroke....

1. 3g Unrestrictor (Let's you run 3g restricted apps...makes youtube on 3g look how it's supposed to!)
2. Customizable themes (though themes can slow the phone down or make things act funny like the status bar disappearing)
3. Lockinfo
4. Quick Reply SMS
5. Cycorder

Here is a good site that describes what you can do...has a great how to on how to apply the lockinfo with Gruppled theme too.

Hope this helps.
