Do you get all the mac customer service and all that? Can someone explain to me why one should buy via the apple store as opposed to a site like Amazon? Thanks.

Pro: no tax, easy to return, fast shipping (if you have amazon prime)
con: You can't customize the system, you can only buy what they have in stock

As far as warranty, apple doesn't care where you bought it from.

Warranty wise it doesn't matter where you purchase AppleCare from. If the pre-configured models are what you're looking for, go with Amazon. You'll save a good chunk with no tax, and you can just pick up AppleCare on Amazon or eBay for even more savings. :)

Best of luck with your purchase!

If you have prime, you'll get super fast shipping. As a total aside, Amazon has iWorks 09 for a very discounted price ~ $33, you could add that to your purchase along with apple care.
