Prospective iPhones buyers not on AT&T...

Hi All,

So what do you think? Will anyone other than AT&T customers be able to activate an iPhone?

If they are allowing customers to walk out of the store without purchasing a contract it tells me one thing... the iPhone will be tough to unlock. Also with an iTunes activation this will also make it tough to activate without an AT&T SIM.

I don't mean an out of the box activation... obviously someone will be attempting to unlock this thing on Friday. The question is, does anyone think it will be done.

Imagine how sales would dramatically increase if this phone could be unlocked. All of sudden your marketplace is world wide.

Why would Apple want this phone to be unlockable?
