I am trying to put some songs i purchased off Itunes onto my new phone, unfortunately not the iphone. However a few of them have changed from being protected to being not. Then some havn't. Does anyone know what this is about.

If it says it is a purchased track that means t was bought from the iTunes store, but isn't DRM protected (itunes plus). Protected track means a normal iTunes track. iTunes plus songs can be used on devices other than apple ones (Zunes, Zens, Phones etc)

When uploaded to the iTunes Store, it is either uploaded as DRM protect or not DRM protected (iTunes Plus). Only a select amount of songs are iTunes Plus.

You cannot change a song from Protected DRM to iTunes Plus, but there is a simple solution to remove the DRM. Just burn Protected iTunes songs to a CD and re-import into iTunes.
