Greetings, I cross-posted this over at the Apple Support Forums but wanted to see what kind of input I could get here too.

I’m looking for options to physically protect an iMac (21.5” VESA mount) when used in portable applications. A shell or even a wrap would work, but options seem nonexistent here for full coverage - likely due to how the base/mount attaches.

A flight case will be used when being shipped but I’d like something extra to protect the machine from the inevitable bumps and scrapes when being moved. A MacBook Pro isn’t applicable here, so any suggestions will be appreciated!

Thanks,
-Jeff

You can DIY one.
Normally you will need a hard case + sponge, and cut the sponge to fit the iMac.
Another option is using the iMac carton box, then harden the carboard, or heavily tape it.

Thanks! The DIY route was something I considered as well. The hard flight case I think you're referring to is easy enough as I work in entertainment where these are commonly used, but DIYing a wrap of sorts is definitely an idea. If nothing else I'd think some adhesive-backed rubber sheeting would help on the corners... Thanks again!
