I'm just wondering if some of you guys removed or kept the plastic that covers the glass/screen? I still have mine on to protect the glass and will only remove it once it actually starts coming off on its own.

I wonder if this is okay, the phone can get a little warm. But the plastic won't damage it correct?

(I know it's a stupid question, but I'm just curious)

No it will not be a problem to leave on, especially because it is on the front and the area where it gets warm is on the rear and rear center. I personally don't like the plastic look, but I know tons and tons of people who leave it on.

Not to go too much off-topic, but the protective plastic available at the apple store is great! Its from powersupport costs ~15 and I just bought cause i was tired of the plastic that the iphone came with. Highly recommended, in case you want to check it out.

I bought a griffin holster for mine and it came with a plastic protector for the screen and I love it. It's much tougher than the one that's on just for shipping.
Watch the video on this page (right under "Features") to see how easy they are to put on and he even tries to scratch it with a couple of knives (the box cutter works heh).

Thanks Aniej.

The plastic bothers me a little too, especially at the bottom near the Home button. But it protects the glass for now, so I'm happy with that. I have the clear plastic case by Belkin, it doesn't protect the glass, but it's a good cover/case.

I took mine off during the first call I received. I couldn't hear a thing, and the person on the other end couldn't hear me either. Removing the plastic cleared that right up.

dont forget to make a cut on the speaker part of the plastic, otherwise it will result in lower speaker volume, i have seen it firsthand

i'd have to agree with this. if you've got another iphone buddy, you could split the cost, since one package comes with two covers.

Just curious.

Why are people putting protective films on the screen, when the plastic film is much more easily scratched than the glass screen? I mean, you've got to really beat up the phone in order to scratch the glass, whereas the plastic will scratch from simple daily use.

I just took off the orginal overlay that the phone came with. Apple does recommend not using anything on the screen although they do sell them in the stores.
