I just converted over to Apple, very pleased so far, but have to use 9.2 for my ProTools which is a little disappointing. X is sooooo much better and I can't wait for Jaguar to come out, but does anyone know if and/or when Digidesign is coming out with Jag compatible software? It would save me a ton of headaches. I'll be happy with even a rumor to feed on! Thanks.

Soon...

Word on the web has it that they have been working on it for a long time, and that we may see something as soon as this August. Knowing Digi, it will probably not be here in August, but I'd expect we'll see something before the end of the year.

I also suspect that it will require Jaquar, as 10.1 is missing some things they need.

Go to the digidesign User Conferences (on their website) for more....

But then you have to allow for time to ship (perhaps not with download), and time to see where the bugs lie and how they are fixed.

I looking at next spring as the time to jump from G3 OS 9.1 to G4 OS X.

But I'm also waiting to see what Apple does with Logic before I start spending.

The thing is, Pro Tools is a gigantic program, all written and optimized for OS 9. If they're doing a slower carbon program it should take them less time (6 mo? Don't know) than if they were doing a full on native Cocoa app, which they should be doing.

Work faster minion!
