Proud owner of a new iPhone! Some questions

So I got an iPhone today! I have some questions though

Okay when I use the AIM app I exit the app while staying logged in. However, when I go back to the AIM app it says 'logging in". I think this prevents me from getting push notifications when someone IMs me. What is wrong here?

Also, when I go to mail, it says it fails to login to an account. However, I think I have everything configured correctly. My comcast mail comes through, so that is working. My GMail is working. The only thing malfunctioning could be Microsoft Exchange. What is the most common problem with mail? I thought I typed everything in correctly

The iPhone does not yet support push notifications for apps like AIM and nothing is allowed to run in the background. Steve Jobs promised push notifications by September but we have yet to see anything.

For your exchange problem, try disabling SSL. When your account verification fails at the end just save it and go back into the advanced settings for your exchange account. You will be able to turn off SSL from there.
