Wanna know why? Being a owner of a 1st gen iPhone not only benefits me from not only owning an iPhone but when the 2nd gen comes around I won't be buying it to replace my current iPhone for one simple reason. I'll already be ahead of all the 2nd gen owners when the 3rd gen comes out. :p:D:apple:

Just something to think about for all you people waiting for a 2nd gen iPhone. :)

The iPhone is the first "first gen" Apple thing I have bought, and I have no regrets so far. As far as my next iPhone, I'll do what I do with iPods: Buy every other gen. 3G iPhone in 2010 here I come! :)

I am very happy to be a 1st Gen iPhone owner.

Compared to my older phone, this was and still is a HUGE upgrade

But, even if a new iPhone comes out, I am stuck with this phone for the next 2 years. :D

No you're not. You can buy a new iPhone as soon as it comes out, you just have to resign onto AT&T for another 2 years from activating your new phone.

With the amount of money I spent on the iPhone, I am stuck with it from my own personal financial situation.

Not that I mind being stuck with it, I love it.

But, I plan on using this model/make until my 2 years are up unless Apple gives me a great discount on the next model (which I don't expect nor mind)

You'll be able to sell your first gen for a couple hundred bucks when the the 2nd gen comes out (provided you take good care of it and keep the box and all that misc. crap people will want). Then you can put that money towards the new iPhone. :D
