If they did so much they would have kept Camera+ in the App Store, as well as all the others that made them a boat-load of money before pulling them from the App Store.

This app proves that the approval process for apps needs to be improved. .99¢ isn't that much, but somehow I can't see how anyone would pay for this app. Then again...

Regarding the approval process, Apple has said that some basic guidelines are:

-App Does what it advertises
-App Doesn't crash
-Developer doesn't use hidden API's

The Proximity Sensor App does what it was advertise to do and the Camera+ App used hidden API's.

Agreed. But that wasn't my point. Someone commented on the 30% cut they get from app sales and I responded to that.

Having said that, Camera+ may have had hidden APIs but the app was very useful to those who got it. Do you actually see yourself or anybody else putting this app to good use?

Wassup Alisstar. Just wanted to ask you, What are hidden API's? I have camera+. I googled it but I cant find an exact answer. Thanx

Camera+ had a easter egg in it. Thru safari you can use the volume buttons to take pictures. Don't think you're allowed to change dedicated features of the phone to use with your app.

At least someone is taking the initiative to fix what Apple is either unable or willing to. I mean, supposedly the problem will be fixed in iOS4.1, but there have already been three betas and the proximity sensor still doesn't work correctly. Meh. Probably a design flaw like the antenna.

There is a flashlight app that does the same thing called just light.

Now if someone could make one that is a black screen for free I bet it would be a hit. And take 10 minutes to develop.

The update to this app is hilarious! I love it! It now shows you where your face touched the screen during the call, it's pretty interesting to see. Just tonight I was walking around outside talking to a friend and when the call was done, I had 17 unwanted touches!

I used Activator to set the app to launch when I press Vol. Down then Vol. Up and it's become a habit to do that after I initiate every call, don't even have to look at the screen to launch it. Works great.
