I am running Snow Leopard (10.6.8) on a 2011 MacBook Pro. I recently purchased the GTA series through Steam and am trying to play them with my Sixaxis PS3 controller. I do not own a PS3, I bought this controller simply to use with my Mac.

I've followed all the tutorials I can find, I've read most forum posts here and elsewhere, I've tried different combinations with disconnecting the controller at various times, updating services, and reconnecting, pressing the button three times quickly, and also holding it down for 10 seconds. It doesn't matter what trick I've tried, nothing has changed the behavior for the device.

I have never been asked for a bluetooth passcode. After I reset the controller for example and start all over from scratch the controller is seen and recognized, and I can get it to connect, however no matter what it will always just drop the connection about 10-15 seconds later. I have downloaded the PS3 driver from the Tattiboggle site, I have been able to play the game with the controller plugged into the USB port, but I want to figure out the bluetooth compatibility.

This has been beyond frustrating, I've found this questions asked by others several times for the past two years, but I've never seen it answered. Please please help me. :/

Hi my controller won't turn on my ps3. I have plugged it in for 2 hrs and the lights just flash on the controller while its plugged in. Once I remove the USB the lights turn of and the controller ceases to function. My other controller doesnt even flash while its plugged in, no matter if i try to press the reset button it doesnt function. Is it time for new controllers?
