Does anyone know of a tried-and-true converter or cable to get a PS3 hooked up to a Mid-2010 27" iMac? I'd like 1080p video and don't need audio as I have a separate set of speakers I'm hooked up to. I know there is one solution out there but haven't heard any reviews as to it actually working or if it's 1080. This would help me so much thanks!:apple:

I'm sorry to burst your bubble, but I've looked into this for hours, and due to the aspect ratio (or resolution?) it can only output 720p from any conversion boxes you may come across. Although the Kanex XD (http://www.kanexlive.com/products/kanexXD.html) will output 1080p, the iMac will not receive it, restricting it to 720p.
I too didn't care about the audio, although it's meant to be good on the Kanex XD.
Overall, I'm waiting (Since I haven't bought an iMac yet), just incase the new iMac has a better input system, something Apple might have noticed needed fixing, along with other reasons.
The Kanex XD was the best I could find, and you'll be lucky to find one much lower than $120.
IMO, get a second monitor, around 22-27" and use it as a second monitor, and a gaming screen!
Others may have other opinions, but there's mine :)
Hope that helped,
Joseph Duffy
