As many of you will be aware I'm a big fan of using my PlayStation 3 as a home media centre. The fact that it can do everything Apple TV does as well as play games and Live TV is a huge deal in a device of this price. Oh, and it's also a DVD and Blu Ray player as well.
Today Sony increased this lead even further by releasing an application called VidZone.
This application gives you access to a library of streaming music videos completely free of charge. Apparently there are around 10,000 videos available at the moment and all you need to do is search for an artist, choose a video and watch it. There are no commercials between the videos. I'm actually quite surprised they can offer this for nothing.
There are plenty of big name artists and I managed to find my favourite band, The Cardigans, on there. The only fault I can pick with it is that most of the videos seem to be 4:3. Not a big deal when you consider it's completely free. It is £1.29 for each video on iTunes.
Has anyone else tried it?
