iOS 12.1 beta is out, but if you have pre-ordered an XS or XS Max then DO NOT UPDATE your current iPhone to iOS 12.1, otherwise you will NOT be able to restore your backup.

You will have to wait for Apple to release the betas for XS and XS Max first.

I never upgrade to the new iOS in the few days before I get my new iPhone. Not worth things like you mentioned or if I am selling then just let the new person upgrade. Just less chances of trouble even if unlikely.

If already thought of this so made sure I removed the beta profile.

This should be a sticky thread as I'm sure a few people with XS/XS Max preorders may still go for the public betas and cause issues with their new phones.

I’m usually obsessed with the new software updates, but decided to skip this one since my new phone will be here Friday. Glad I did because this never would’ve crossed my mind.
