will this just run hot with less battery if it’s overkill for you? I was going to get one priced around this for lesser specs so unless there is a downside this seems like a great deal.

i don't think i ever had a overheating issue, and my workflow demands alot, battery runs fine, i get 10 hours on basic task, this laptop is 3600, at 2500 i think thats the biggest discount i seen so far.

Wow. That's the best deal I've seen so far as I type on my launch day 1tb M1 Pro with 16GB of ram. Excellent find.
yeah no doubt, i paid over 4200 for mine back in june, this is a fantastic price for anyone looking to get that sweet 64gb of unified memory.

Great deal at yesterday's price. I mean is it safe to assume that this Max specification with 64GB ram would still perform higher than the the M2 Pro (non-max) that will undoubteldy end up around the same price with 1TB when announced? Or not necessarily?

oh yeah absolutely, only area that i imagine the m2 would win out is single core, and thats only benchmark speaking, real world performance i doubt anyone will notice you can open a tab a bit faster.

love it, i was mem swapping like crazy on my wife's mba 16gb. osx start acting up once i push pass 7-8gb swap. recent folder stops working, safari got buggy and the add on would stop working, final cut got really jittery. the worst part is monterey has a memory leak issue with windowserver.

Thanks that’s helpful. I meant to ask how the fan noise has been.
