If you are running the GM, which is version 10.0.1 (14A403), you don't have to do anything, you are currently running the public release, which is 10.0.1 (14A403). The build number (14A403) is the critical piece of info.
GM == Public Release in every single way. The only time it doesn't is if Apple finds bugs in the GM worthy of fixing before release. This didn't happen this year.
Any two versions with the same build number are identical in every way. The only manner in which such builds can be out of sync is when there is a delta update which has gone wrong, and the GM was not a delta (like some of the 10's of MB updates we had), but was a couple GB. It's the full public release iOS image.
There is one thing you should do: In Settings -> General -> Profiles & Device Management, delete the beta profile unless you want to keep receiving future betas. You probably don't want to keep the beta profile, but if you do want to receive upcoming betas (e.g., 10.1), then keep it as is.
