I'm deciding whether or not to clean install my system and put Yosemite as my daily driver. I know there's still bugs and all features aren't out yet but that's not a big deal to me. What are your opinions?

Haha, I just posted something along these lines. I think DP4 is stable enough for me as a daily driver. Depends on what apps you use and such and if you're willing to live with some random freezes/crashes. But, I think DP4 is extremely stable.

i use it as daily driver, only one issue with mail and smartfolder for the rest:

- faster
- better
- nicer;-)

I've been on DP4 for a couple days and its my daily driver installed on top of Mavericks. No big issues so far. Hand Off is working nicely!

Do you guys use 1Password by any chance? That's the only app I have on my computer that's important and need working.

Working fine for me. Think 1pass is only not working in iOS?

Its my daily driver, has been since DP2, and had only 2 minor issues which are not worth mentioning.

I wouldn't suggest it as a daily driver if there's anything you do with your computer that you need in order to do your job — you get issues like sudden and arbitrary instability in stuff that works fine on officially released Mac OS, or even weirder problems like Pixelmator's entire tool palette showing empty, unclickable spaces under DP3 (magically fixed in DP4).

…I say this as someone who works from home and uses his computer to do translation work, and has been using the DPs since DP2 as daily drivers. I never said my own judgment was non-awful. ; )

Nah, I don't use my computer for work that much. I bought this computer mainly because I wanted to get rid of my 6 year old Compaq Presario desktop. Always wanted a Mac, so since I had some extra cash, I bought it. Good to know everything works for the most part. I can deal with a few issues. I just didn't want to get into it with it being unusable.

that's a problem with your setup, not Yosemite. I was using Pixelmator all last night on a 2011 MacBook Air w/4GB RAM and it ran smooth as silk.

I'd strongly recommend testing it out on another Mac or another partition if you don't have access to another Mac. I've been using it for the past day now and I definitely won't be using the beta as my primary OS. I've encountered many graphical glitches doing things I regularly do when I'm using OS X. It doesn't make it unusable, just annoying.

Though I will add that I love all of the changes and additions to Yosemite and can't wait for the full release in the fall.

I use 10.10 as a daily version, however Outlook launches but won't show my inbox, so I am using Mac Mail as workaround and I don't use this for work, but everything else works perfectly.

Like others have said, it really depends on what your "work" is. At the moment all I'm doing is writing so Pages is all I need to function and I'm pretty certain it's fine for Yosemite.

I'm mostly just carrying on as if this was my only partition to see if I run into any issues to report.

You forgot to read the second half of my sentence where I mentioned that it magically fixed itself in DP4. : P

I played with it on an external drive for 3 days and then took the leap after I had a good online backup. So far so good for me but I usually only surf the web, do some email and a few other apps.

You should do it, you have nothing to lose (as long as you back up first), that's what I did, install it on my 13" MBP mid 2010 when it came out and it's running pretty good, it only takes a couple of hours to get used to the new look, after that, I just couldn't go back to mavericks, love this new translucent look.

The worst thing that could happen is that you don't back up every day after installing Yosemite you could lose a days work.
