Hi all,

First time posting here..

I installed El Capitan GM on my 2011 Macbook Pro and everything is running smoothly. Really nice version of OS X.

I was wondering though, what happens tomorrow when the OS is released to the public? Can/Should I install it? I read somewhere that it might not be necessary because it's basically the same version I'm running on right now.

Thank you in advance!

@iNut_FIN

If you no longer wish to be a beta tester, you will have to download and install the release version upon the release date, and opt out of pre-release update seeds in System Preferences > App Store.

You may decide to install the new version according to the updates of Mac App Store. When it will give you a update notification, you should install it.

Okay thank you for your responses :)
If there is a later build of OS X released to the public tomorrow, and it's quite likely there will be, you should definitely install that rather than keep running the unreleased beta.

Okay let's keep that in mind.

How did work with Yosemite? Those who were running Yosemite GM before public release, did they just purchase and download it from the Mac App Store just like those who were still on Mavericks?

I do know my way around Apple products quite well so I'll probably figure it out tomorrow, but it would nice to know what to expect :)

Yes, exactly that. It didn't show as an update.
