Pull down notification center from lock screen?

I searched and didn't see this posted anywhere.

Is it possible to pull down your notifications center from your lock screen without having to unlock your phone? Does it matter if you have a passcode lock set up?

No, this prevents anyone from accessing your stuff.

If you want certain information on the lock screen, you go into Notifications and set it up that way. Any app that has notifications can be configured to be displayed on the lock screen. Therefore, there is no need to have the swipe down notification as well.

No matter what I do on my 3GS, I cannot see any of this information on the lock screen. My notification center displays everything when I pull it down, but I see nothing on the lock screen.

Yeah, this is what confused me at first. I thought that stuff that was in the notification center would always show on the lock screen until we cleared it, but when I think about it more that doesn't really make any sense.

This lockscreen stuff is still very confusing. I was hoping (and expecting) it to work like lockscreen info whereas all I had to do was push my home button and see all of my calendar appts, weather, todos and alerts without having to unlock my phone. I dont think iCloud is working 100% yet, so maybe it will get better, or hopefully someone will come out with some nice tweaks for it.

Wow, that's a massive fail right there. I was expecting to look at today's calendar events from the lock screen.

It took me awhile to figure this out as well. At first this bugged me, but then I realized it made sense.

I don't think third party apps have access to that function at the moment. I would assume they get it, but this is iOS we're talking about, so we probably won't.

I haven't jail broken any of my prior phones, but...

You would need to jailbreak and install intelliborn's app IntelliscreenX for $9.99 but you get a 3 day trial, so make sure you like it, but... It works great!
