Ok people, talk to me .

Have a ripped documentary that if I try to play it on the ATV2 it just sits there trying to load....spinning wheel of time, timeline/buffer bar on screen, and... nothing!

BUT! If I send the same show from iTunes to this ATV, it plays fine. Doesn't buffer any, the play point seemingly always on the end of the buffered point.

So what gives? Obviously the specs I've ripped it at are fine for the ATV as it did play. It just wouldn't unless iTunes pushed it through.

Here are its specs:
General / Container Stream #1
Video Codecs Used.................................AVC
Audio Codecs Used.................................AAC LC
File Format.......................................MPEG-4
Play Time.........................................1h 30mn
Total File Size...................................1.38 GiB
Total Stream BitRate..............................2 181 Kbps
Video Stream #1
Frame Width.......................................1 280 pixels
Frame Height......................................720 pixels
Frame Rate........................................29.970 fps
Audio Stream #1
Number of Audio Channels..........................2

What app did you use to rip the DVD?

Did you use an app to tag the metadata?

It sounds like it could be an atom problem, you might have to optimize the file.
