Ok so I've uploaded a few Pages and Numbers files to www.iWork.com and cannot seem to figure out how to get them in Pages or Numbers on the iPad. I can do it in Safari, but getting them to the iWork apps to "work" on them is another issue.

Anyone know how?
TIA

I found a PCWorld article that said this:

To do this, launch Safari on your iPad, browse to iWork.com on your iPad, and sign in. From there, tap the blue download icon (a downward-pointing arrow in a blue circle), and tap the appropriate name of the iWork app (Numbers, Pages, or Keynote) from the drop-down list. The document will then open in Safari, where you can tap 'Open in <iWork app name>' in the translucent overlay toolbar (you may need to tap the document in order for the toolbar to appear). Numbers will open and import the file, making it accessible from your iPad.

This is cool.

Question: I know that when you import a desktop-iWork document into Pages you lose all sorts of formatting. What about importing a document created in iWork.com itself? Are the iPad versions of these app feature parity with iWork.com, such that you don't lose any formatting and what not?

Works Great! Thanks Diabolic!

This is interesting to me, since it seems to indicate you can download files from Safari that will open in other apps, at least in Apple's iwork apps.

Would this then work if I went to a website that had documents in microsoft word format that I could download and open in Pages?

Or could I download PDF's in safari and open them in 3rd party PDF apps?

I think the answer is "yes if the 3rd party app has registered itself as an app to associate with that given file type."

BTW just found out that iWork.com is not like googledocs at all - you can't actually make and edit documents :eek::eek:

WTF? Why did they come out with this at all? Why didn't they just use iDisk???
