I have 4,1-5,1 with a High Sierra that I have been running a flashed 770ti in for ages, but I’ve been wanting to upgrade my vid card for a while.

Based on my reading here, I ordered the Sapphire RX580 pulse as suggested from Amazon. I note it is the 8 pin model.

Well, got it in and for the first vid card without boot screen, was pleased with it. Since I haven’t had a chance to play for quite a while, I decided to fire up World of Warcraft to see how it looks. With the settings at max, I was easily getting 60fps which my 770 never could do in populous areas (or really anywhere lately... the 770 has been almost useless.)

Unfortunately, twice this evening my Mac Pro did 5he immediate shut down thing, requiring an unplug to get restarted?? I assume there must be a load issue with the 580, but I was under the impression the power supply in the Mac Pro could easily handle this card. Am I missing something here?

If this is expected, I’m going to return the card... any thoughts are appreciated!!
