I have the C2D, purchased in January. I sold it on ebay, not shipped yet, and could get the 27" i3 for the same price I sold it for on ebay with a new printer and some new BOSE Companion II speakers, my BOSE companion 1st gen are from 2006. But is it worth all of the hassle for this small of a speck jump. I'm a casual user, no crazy games or video editing. Perhaps i'll rent from redbox, a DVD vending machine for $1 for the ones who dont know what redbox is, and handbrake the DVD to my iMac so I can watch it on all of my iDevices.

Please help!

I would go for the new i3. If you don't, you will always be wondering whether you should have taken the plunge or not. :)

Also, HandBrake should be a little faster as well. Even though its not a huge upgrade, at least for the same amount of money you will be improving your machine and you won't have to go to the hassle of backing out of the ebay auction.

To me, its like saying for $5, I can either get one pack of oreos, or 1.5 packs of double-stuff oreos.

I think you have to go double-stuff or go home.
