I purchased a returned iPad Pro. Everything was as new. Looking at my purchase date it is off by 15 days. Is this an error as it might been attached briefly to another iCloud account? I dont even know where the purchase date comes from? I purchased from John Lewis and just set it up.

Any help would be great.

Thanks

The “Purchase date” from a warranty perspective, is the FIRST sale date. If you buy open box, your warranty starts when it was first sold.

As OP stated in the post above, the purchase date will be the time it was logged into iCloud/set up. I don’t think Apple will roll back the warranty for an “open box” sale, especially since it wasn’t at an Apple store (those will be resold as refurbished with full warranty)

ok thanks, this makes sense. John Lewis gives 2 year guarantee anyway from purchase date.
