I swore I read somewhere you could purchase the different color keyboard and trackpad that comes with iMac separately? I just can’t find them anywhere?!

I only remember that being a thing when Apple came out with the space grey Mac Pro and even then you had to call Apple so they could verify your serial number before ordering a replacement.
I believe these are not available separately so when I buy my new iMac I'll be ordering both. Even if I don't use one or the other, at least I have it for later on.
That said, I recall there being a post from someone that said he was successful at calling Apple to "replace" his "broken" color matched keyboard/mouse. IIRC, he fessed up during the call but he did get the item. You might want to try calling Apple Support.
