HI!
was curious if theres a way to change the admin to myself so I can update the password.
The included everything but the password for the Admin so now, I basically use this Mac at all.
is there a way to change/update the password for the admin without knowing the previous(current) password?
I've tried emailing and calling the retailer for that information, but no ones picked up and no ones responded to my emails...

was curious what the solution to this issue would be so I can start using this computer properly.

Thanks!

You should try some common passwords such as 1,2,3,4 or just hit enter because older versions of MacOS allowed no password but still made you go through the motions.

Sounds like the Mac wasn't properly erased from the previous owner. I would try erasing the drive and doing an internet recovery. If it installs properly and you get the message that the device is activation locked with the previous owner's Apple ID, you are probably looking at an expensive paperweight. Hopefully, that is not the case.
