EDIT: solved! iTunes hid many purchases that I never hid.
I have noticed that at least four purchased movies are missing from my purchases in iTunes. One of them (Paranormal Activity: the Chronology) is no longer for sale in iTunes. In the past, I had another movie disappear and it came back nearly a year later.
I also have one complete series where season one is gone from my iCloud purchases and when I view the season in the iTunes Store, it says purchased but has no way for me to download it. I contacted iTunes support about that season and they placed the entire season in my download que although that was not what I wanted since I already have it downloaded, I just want to download it from the cloud onto my iPad.
Anyways, just warning people to make sure you have all purchases downloaded since they can disappear from the cloud at any time. There is no guarantee.
