This iCloud is really starting to drive me up the wall. I had it set on my laptop to sync all purchased music on there, as well as my iPhone.

When I go to the "Purchased" playlist, it only shows me the three songs I downloaded today (after I had already activated it), and it will NOT give me all my other previously purchased songs.

The most annoying part is that if I go to iTunes on my iPhone and click on purchases, it shows the songs as all downloaded already!!

Can anyone help? This is driving me nuts.

Same here!!

There are two things that are really annoying me with iCloud. First, like you mentioned it does not sync/place a "Purchased" playlist, instead, it only creates a new one ONCE you buy new music AFTER you've setup iCloud. Absurd!

Second, and worst for me is that even if you create "Newly Added" smart playlist to work around this, it just sorts the music in whatever effing way it wants. Is it just common sense to me that I want to play my most recently purchased songs/albums first. Previously, it would sync the playlist order exactly how it shows in iTunes (I sorted it by most recently purchased first). I want to play my music in the order that I purchased it with the newest first, etc. No way of doing that. It's so annoying I'm about to kill it until they fix this.

Same here Part II

I also agree. Someone please help. My "Purchased" playlist was my "go to" for it automatically added all my new purchases as well as allowed me to manually add my favorite songs.

Is there any other way to make a comparable playlist?

I assume you have Music in 'Automatic Downloads' selected on your iOS device?

I bought 'Camp' by Childish Gambino yesterday on my iPhone. Just made it so Music on my iPad only shows music downloaded to my device as I have iTunes Match. I have also never played that album on my iPad, so I haven't inadvertently played and downloaded it. Anyway, all of the songs on that album are on my iPad.

I do agree though, I see no purchased playlist on my iPad or iPhone and having to create a smart playlist for Purchased is a bit of a PITA.

I also have to agree. I spent quite a bit of time trying to make sure all my settings were correct so that my music library on my mac would sync to my ipad. Now I'm 600 miles from home and find out that neither my movies nor my music are on my iPad.....NOTHING! Is there any way to pull my music and movies from my Mac to my iPad via iCloud? This stinks.

A few things going on with everyone here:

1) iTunes Match and ITunes in the Cloud are different. iTunes in the cloud works like this: of you purchase music through iTunes, it can automatically be downloaded to all of your iDevices sharing the same iTunes account. You can enable/disable this feature under Settings > Store and flipping the music switch to your preference. IT DOES NOT AUTOMATICALLY DOWNLOAD MUSIC NOT PURCHASED IN ITUNES. This only works with music and music videos, NOT MOVIES.

2) iTunes Match is specifically for music not purchased in iTunes. It can match your songs to what's in iTunes and make them available on your iDevice. But you have to have iTunes Match enabled on your iDevice. If iTunes March doesn't recognize a track in your library, it will simply upload it to the cloud, making it available to you on your iDevices. iTunes Match works with music and music videos ONLY.

All of you guys' problems seem to come from a misunderstanding of what the services are. I don't mean that in a disrespectful way. A lot of people misunderstand these services and it can be confusing. Remember these are services that have to be enabled on your computers and iDevices and must be all under the same iTunes accounts.

Another idea is to sync your iDevice and see if the music shows up in the purchased playlist. If iTunes in the Cloud and iTunes Match are disabled, you'd have to sync it manually to get your music on there.

It's very true, there's a lot of confusion. Apple has been negligent in providing it's customers with clear instructions on how to use their iCloud Services. Instead of making iCloud as easy as they lead you to believe, Apple has made it very difficult, especially for new users. How ironic. The company that claims "it just works" makes it harder than any other cloud. You don't hear these problems anywhere else.
