I purchased an iPhone ringtone from iTunes, downloaded it and it shows in the music folder, not ringtones. Same thing on the phone.

I've searched and played with iTunes and the phone till I'm ready to drown it and myself at the same time.

How do I move the ringtone to the ringtone folder and into ringtones on the phone?

Thanks in advance for saving what's left of my sanity.

My question would be did you purchase the song/ring tone from the iTunes store...as I suspect....OR....did you buy it and then CREATE the ringtone in iTunes and purchase it again???

iTunes does not sell ring tones...they sell songs to create ring tones from, this is shown by the Bell symbol. You purchase the song, then right click on the song and select "Create Ringtone" A window will open and you move the slider to select the section of the song you want as a ringtone and make any other adjustments you want then click "Purchase" in the lower right corner. This will cost another .99 for the ringtone. Once you purchase, it will automatically put it in the ringtone folder and sync to phone.

Good Luck

Do you know if there is a way (besides ilife '08, since I am not a Mac user yet) to change a sound byte I have into a ringer to use on the iphone?

Thanx
