I'm currently using a 16" mbp with my pro display xdr but would like a separate standalone desktop to use with my pro display.

I've been reading that the upgraded iMac Pro is a better value than the base Mac Pro because of the display but performance-wise would the upgraded iMac Pro (10-core) still outperform the base Mac Pro? I mostly do Photoshop work and some light video editing. Thanks in advance.

does the imac pro even support the xdr? Last I heard only the mac pro can do it in terms of desktop macs

I heard it works for 5k, which wouldn't be a deal-breaker as I'm not doing crazy video editing. So essentially I'm trying to think of performance between the two below. The storage isn't much of an issue as I have an external hard drive.

Mac Pro
3.5GHz 8‑core Intel Xeon W processor, Turbo Boost up to 4.0GHz
32GB (4x8GB) of DDR4 ECC memory
Radeon Pro 580X with 8GB of GDDR5 memory
256GB SSD storage
$5599

vs

iMac Pro
3.0GHz 10-core Intel Xeon W processor, Turbo Boost up to 4.5GHz
32GB 2666MHz DDR4 ECC memory
Radeon Pro Vega 56 with 8GB of HBM2 memory
1TB SSD storage
$5319
