Purchasing ab iMac

I am getting ready to pull the trigger on a 2017 iMac 27" and have a couple of questions.
#1 - can you use the magic mouse and trackpad at the same time
#2 - can you use the track pad like you use the Bamboo tablet for working on photos etc?

Oh yea, one more question if you don't mind - how difficult is it to get the student discount (step son just graduated and can use him if necessary).

1. Yes you can, I have the older version of Magic Trackpad left of the keyboard, and my new Magic Mouse on the right hand side.
2. The Magic Trackpad is just that, a trackpad. I just bought a Wacom Intuos Art for my girlfriend, and it was't very expensive.

I don't know anything about student discounts.

Online, you can use student discount no issue and with free shipping might be best. Having just graduated his ID may be expired which wouldn't work. Online has no validation but they do randomly audit those purchases.
