Hi,

I purchased a 2.0Ghz Macbook over the phone (with Education Discount) over the phone this morning. However, I am yet to recieve any automatic email confirming they have recieved an order (they asked for my email address). Does Apple usually send automatic emails out when you order over the phone, or do I just have to wait for a letter telling me about delivery times, etc?

Thanks

Hi,

I also ordered by phone, claiming educational discount. I had two fairly prompt emails, one confirming I had ordered and a second after my payment had been cleared.

Good luck

Hmmm...that doesn't fill me with confidence. Nor was I asked to actually email/fax any proof that I'm a student. Were you asked to do anything like that?

Same here. It may have took about 2 hours from call to confirmation email. You could always check on line to see your order status.

I just phoned Apple and it appeared they wrote down my email address incorrectly. Was probably my own fault for not speaking clearly, so I can't complain.

Thanks for your help guys :)

Just wondering why you ordered on the phone. Seems you have a computer, and internet. Are you worried your credit card over the internet? or had a tax number?

Just wondering.

Online they do not ask for any proof..I guess they trust people online more. But they have your address not sure if you over use the EDU discount would they stop. (like ording 2 macbooks in less then a year)

Because I'm planning to send my Macbook to Osama Bin Laden so he can use it to help him break Suddam Hussein from American custody and help Cuba bomb America in a bid to ferment a Communist coup d'etat in Washington. I need to leave as little of a trail as possible :p

Actually, it's because I'm not anywhere my university's campus (it's a London university, and I'm in Manchester), so I can't access the Higher Education Store. So I had to do it over the phone.
