I am interested to see if anyone on the forum has purchased Macbook pro from Amazon.com and if so, I would like to find out what is the tentative delivery date is.

Does anyone have any idea as to whether the delivery date from Amazon.com would be considerably slower than the apple store?

FYI, Amazon is also offering $150 rebate off both version of the Macbook pro.

Thanks in advance for the info.

I'd suspect you'd receive it 2-3 weeks, after Apple starts shipping. Almost every Mac I've bought has been from Amazon, so I'm pretty familiar with the patterns.

Amazon is a great place to buy from though. You can also get the 1.57 percent discount, if you use A9.com once a week or so (if logged in with your Amazon account).

well an easy solution is going ahead and pre-ordering one. your card won't be charged until it's time to ship it. you can then find out when the shipping date would be and then go ahead and cancel the order.

But Amazon makes up silly ship dates (months later than reality).

Also good to point out that Amazon sometimes ships to newer orders first. For example, if you ever see "ships within 24 hours" on a product you want, but your pre-order hasn't entered "shipping soon" yet, then go ahead cancel it and replace. I know its unfair, but they do this. They figure they have you locked in on some distant preorder date, so they'll sometimes ship new orders, when they actually get them in stock. :(

When I ordered mine from Apple last week, there were no rebates on Amazon yet. Now I'm thinking of placing another order on Amazon. But should I pre-order or just wait till it says "Ships in 24 hours"?

I'm in the same boat except with a new iMac instead. I'm going to hold out until Amazon actually starts shipping them as it has seemed to be faster than pre-ordering from my experiences in the past with them. I once pre-ordered a piece of software and ended up getting it about 2 weeks after they had changed the status to "ships within 24 hours."

Probably best to wait until it says "ships in 24 hours." Just keep checking it several times a day. :) Unless you got a Mac Book Pro? If so, I'd just starting checking once Apple starts shipping them, for there is no need to check this early> :)
