Hi everyone,
I have about 13k photos in my iCloud Photos Library. The originals are backed up onto external storage, and I would like to purge the iCloud library with a new, blank System Library. Using the "normal"method, it requires a 30-day wait to allow you to download full resolution originals, but since I have this already, I am looking for a way to skip this waiting period. I have an iPhone 11 Pro, Mac Pro, Macbook Pro, MacBook Air, iMac, and an iPad.
There must be a versioning number that each device increments when it syncs and receives or sends changes. If I create a new Photos library and artificially increment that value, the other devices should theoretically consider that device authoritative, and delete the contents with the contents of the blank library I suspect. There is also likely an identifier to make sure each device is requesting modifications to the same library (which I may need to copy from the backup library).
Does anyone know if this is possible, and what value(s) would need to be changed? I am not concerned of the risk of Photo data loss with the backup in place.
Thanks!
