Purple cursor problem while watching movies

I don't know how to fix this but when I watch movies or videos (whether it be in vidx or quicktime) there is a purple cursor that pops up. More specifically it is a regular cursor icon with a light purple glow around it.

Any suggestions guys?

By chance are you using f.lux or anything else that changes the color temperature of the screen?

I've seen f.lux create exactly what you're talking about.

I have never heard about it before. I checked to see if it was installed and I didn't find it anywhere. Sometimes the purple cursor arrow pops up and other times I can watch a complete movie without seeing it. Let me know some of your other suggestions.
