iPad mini Purple or Starlight? Did anyone swap after seeing them in natural light?

Hi, I‘m a 49 year young lady who cant get into an Apple Store and relying on online videos to help decide on a colour. I’m steering towards purple but appreciate that starlight may work with more covers…. did anyone change their mind when it arrived after seeing it in natural light?

I like purple, and may be happy with the lavender case or go nude… but might also purchase a contrasting 3rd party black or grey case from Amazon later…

I'm a 48 year young lady I had planned to buy Starlight for the same reason but way swayed by the purple and no regrets at all, its a lovely colour and think it will work with a range of cases.

Planning to get the Starlight on the new watch, but it looked a bit bland on the Mini, I thought.

Both colours are nice. Can’t go wrong with either. The starlight looks more silver with a hint of beige in certain angles. I wish I got stsalright now that I’ve seen it in person. I ended up ordering the space grey for tried and true to my liking.

I’m a 55 year younger gentleman ( 😉 🤣 ) and will be buying a purple mini as a Christmas present for my 51 year younger wife 😇😍. She absolutely loves purple and I would be committing a mortal sin if I bought her a different colour. If she subsequently prefers the look of a different colour then she can swap out her purple one for it herself…but my mission would be complete 🤗.

Personally, I think I’ll be getting a space grey one for myself…or possibly Starlight 😈 👍

47 yo male. Loving Starlight!! Exactly what I wanted and expected. Paired with a white folio, it has a light, clean look. I wanted to change it up a bit as most of the things I already have are either dark or bright and bold.

Since I’ll be using the mini primarily for book reading and casual web use, it’s perfect.

Just go with your gut, get the colour you fancy and enjoy the hell out of it. All the reviewers with purple devices seem to really love the colour. Personally, when I get mine next year I will likely get Starlight as its shimmer just ‘pops’. 39 year young male here, since we’re doing the age gimmick

I changed my order from SL to Pink, but I think SL looks pretty good. Space Gray should have been Midnight. SG is a tired scheme.

I ordered purple but to me it looks almost exactly like space gray. Only looks purple if the light catches it just right. Considering exchanging for starlight since I really like Apple’s classic silver color and to see if I happen to get one with less of a scrolling issue on the display. Then again, I’ve been using it in the folio since I got it so the color doesn’t really matter all that much.

SG is a tired scheme.

Apparently apple thought silver was tired and even adding a warm tint is catching major flack. Perhaps a tinted black would be less controversial but I’m surprised how many love silver so there you go.

In a direct comparison there’s a stark difference but just glancing at it while I’m using it it’s really hard to see the purple.

I have the purple iPad mini 6 and assuming it the 2nd from the right in this photo, it is not that dark in person. It's more metallic lilac but it also depends on the light it's in. At some angles it looks silver. I personally love it. I have an Apple folio on order but now looking for a clear case so that I'm not covering it up!

Yeah, I ordered a black Folio, but Apple needs to come out with a clear case.

I went from purple to starlight with Dark Cherry folio case.
I have a starlight iPhone 13 mini planning to pick up dark cherry leather case from Apple store tomorrow.
Then later this year will be going for same combination of Colour’s for AW7.

Here are two pictures - my starlight mini against the iPad Air 4 and my friends purple mini. The starlight is way more gold in person than it comes off in pictures and video, I love it. I still would go for the purple though. I wish Apple made it easier to get a better idea of the true looks of the colors in person.

i have a purple sitting unopened next to me. I picked it up and saw those reviews of the starlight and orange case and really liked that combo.

so I’m over the purple but still undecided on space grey which I have reserved or the starlight then I’ll just have to constantly check stores for daily.

but as mentioned if apple had done a midnight mini I would have gone that route

Are the Apple stores allowing you in without a reservation? From what I read you can’t use Gift Cards on pick up orders anyway.

This lighting seems way cooler than most lighting environments people would be in. The Starlight looks Silver here when there's typically way more yellow in the hue. The Purple looks WAY more purple here than it actually does, it almost looks space gray IRL. The Pink looks like Silver with a hint of Lavender here when IRL it looks a lot warmer and rose-gold esque
