Anyone else having problems getting push to work with their microsoft exchange account? This was working fine until 2.2 and i was abit dsappointed as soon as my yahoo email was fixed with 2.2, my exchange stopped working. I have tried to remove the account and re-add it but still no luck.

Anyone?

What exactly am I doing wrong? I set it up the same way i had set it up on the 2.1 firmware.

please share more information. what is happening when you try to setup? password not taken etc.

i have 30+ iPhones on exchange 2007. they all work fine, but we have experienced some weird issues. had to completely wipe one phone to get it back on exchange ( the password would never get accepted ) might try that as a last resort...

hope this helps,

Jenzo

Well ... setup is working fine. I have managed to successfully setup my email with the iPhone, however, new email does not get pushed down to me. I have to manually open the mail app in order to retrieve new email.

My company is working on exchange 2003 not 2007, though i do believe it is to be updated to 2007 fairly soon.

Mine started doing the exact same thing yesterday for no reason. I have deleted the mail account on the phone and set it up again and still the same. I may do a restore tonight and see if that fixes it. Has anyone tried that with any luck? We use 2003 and have made no changes to the server config. so I don't feel it is a problem there.

No issues for me. I use push e-mail frequently (20+ times a day), and I've never had an issue with 2.2.

< 2.2 did have some issues for me, but 2.2's been reliable in that regard.

same issue

I have had the same issue with push and ActiveSync since updating to 2.2. I have tried deleting and reinstalling the account, but no luck. Anyone out there have any idea what is going on? I have spoken with the IT person who manages our Exchange server, and he says there have been no changes made. I can fetch the mail off, but no push.
:(

Rules?

On another forum, I read that a user was having problems with Exchange Server. He removed all of his rules and then everything worked fine.

Do you have any rules set up? You might try removing them to see if that fixes the problem.

Good luck.

Dan.

Two things to try:

1) Remove your account, reset the network settings, and restart the phone immediately afterwards.

2) If that fails, restore the phone. (I know it's a pain, but it will help determine where the fault lies.)

Thanks. When you say, "reset your network settings," what exactly do you mean? Thanks for your help.

Yep tried that too, but I have noticed I have the same issue on a Touch my wife uses. It has 2.2 software and I setup my exchange on it to see if it worked correctly and it is the same as my iPhone. I think that points to the Exchange Server. Mine has worked fine since day one (the 11th when it was released) and all of a sudden it acts up. If we find something on the server I'll post up so you guys can try it too.

I have read on another website (5limes) that ActiveSync requires 3G. Do you think that may be a factor with the iPod Touch?

Nope, it worked before....if it was on and email got pushed to it. Worked like a charm, both started crapping out at the same time. It's got me scratching my head for sure,LOL

UPDATE! My IT Admin got to looking through the event logs this afternoon (he has been out) and found a ton of Activesync Errors. He re-booted the server and it is working fine now. Apparently when he was doing the monthly routine maintenance and updates when and the server re-booted afterwards Activesync got hung up (for lack of a better term) and was keeping Activesync from making the needed connection to allow push to work properly. If I can get the exact error it was giving I'll post it up. In the mean time some of you guys may want to check and see if you have errors and maybe a server reboot just might fix your problem if things were working fine before hand.

No. ActiveSync merely requires a network connection of some sort. It uses standard HTTP(S), so there's no reason that for it to require any sort of specific network connection.

Thanks! I am forwarding your message to our IT person. Hope it works!:)

The problem is with the server

jsimpson's suggestion worked. There were a bunch of errors on the server log, and the IT admin found some patches to correct the problem. Push works great now. Thanks for the tip.:D
