I know Push (among other things) reduce battery life. Would battery life decrease the more apps you are pushing? It would make sense.

My battery life has been draining more than before, so I decided to reduce the number of apps I have pushing. It's now down to Beejive and Pushmail only. Mail push is off, wifi is off, but I'm still not getting any better battery life than I was before I narrowed down the pushed apps.

The only reason it would increase with the number of apps is if those apps are repeatedly pushing. Remember that using Apple's push notifications, you are connected to only one server which then pushes everything else.
