No wonder they keep extending trial...

I get mail, shows up in mail (mac pro), mobileme (web)... iphone still waiting... no badge on home screen unless I open mail application.

Isn't that what push is? Getting your mail without opening mail application?
This is not push, this is called FETCH! and they want $99 for this?
hmm...

Btw, I signed up last night. Glad to see I wasn't missing much...

Push Mail, you obviously need the application to be open, how else do you expect the mail to be retrieved?

Instead of the the device sending a request every so often to check the server for new mail then pulling it down, the server contacts the device and pushes it to it. Result is saved battery life, and getting instant messages.

Same applies to iCal and Address Book.

Push Email isn't fully supported yet, and Apple has already stated they were too ambitious with the whole push idea. It'll come.

EDIT: I realised you are talking about the iPhone Mail application once I wrote the above.

Actually Push Email on my iPhone works very well. Like others there have been times when it has not worked for a short amount of time. Others have had to Power Reset to get Pust to start working again. Others have had to remove the MobileMe Account and add it back again to get it working again. You should double check your settings on the iPhone to verify you have PUSH Enabled and not Fetch or Manual.

I am sure if you search this site you will find a number of Threads on this issue.

I can confirm this. Push email is broked, for me at least. Used to work just fine, I could send an email to my mac.com address from Gmail, and I get notified within seconds. Now, I get nothing.

Maybe they are still having problems with the mac.com address's. I got pushed the email from your post. There seems to have a lot of problems with .mac email.

Push works great for me and I have mine set up as @mac.com on both my iPhone and my iMac's Mail program. I think Apple is just having problems being consistent with MobileMe right now. Doesn't mean the service doesn't work; it's just too spotty right now to completely rely on. Hope they get it sorted out for everyone soon.

Are you sure you have Push turned on in your iPhone settings?

Yes. I double checked the settings. I got it working last night. But today (all day) no push to iphone. I open mail application, then it checks if I have mail or not.

But calendar and contacts (push) work. I changed couple things on my desktop. They're pushed into my iphone.

But as I said, mail (push-iphone) is not working. Not for me anyway.

actually, I haven't had any emails pushed to my iPhone today either. Fetched a whole bunch though. Guess they're having some problems again. Oh well... its getting pretty routine now.

Those that are not working today. Could you let us know if it just starts working on it's own tomorrow or the next day.

Not sure if you tried this, but I have had to POWER RESET my phone in the past when it was not pushing email. It has been a while since I have had to do it thow.

Good Luck.

Push to my iPhone started working again for me a little while ago, on its own, no resetting.

Not working for me this morning, was working last night though. Lots of AT&T cell network problems this morning actually.. had trouble accessing the App Store via EDGE, and now I can't even fetch email, just sits there loading.

Push to iPhone works pretty well

My only issue with the push is that my iphone periodically quits receiving the pushed emails, which is quickly resolved by power resetting the iphone. Any idea if the 2.02 update will resolve this issue?

I'm running 2.0.2 and don't have this problem, but then, I really only had push problems once (back on 2.0.0). I turned push off/on on the iPhone (by stopping/restarting syncing with MobileMe) and never experienced it since.
